"v1.0.4" -- list of users from a Windows Domain Release v1.0.4 is now available for use in ZerverModule(tm) and ProZerver systems. For a system which has joined a Windows Active-Directory Domain, allocating share-access-permission for a non-public share requires using a list of all users. With this release, a different method is used to get a full list of names (program "net rpc user" rather than "wbinfo -u"), which appears to get a complete list under a wider range of circumstances. In v1.0.3, a change was made to improve separation of privileges. This had a number of desirable results, but could result in a listing of SmartMirror Tasks with a warning message about no-access to a particular directory. This warning message could be in error -- access by the SmartMirror task would proceed without a problem. With this release, changed the way this warning message is generated. For SmartMirror tasks, changed the operation to try to ensure that files newly-created at a destination had read-write permission for the owner, rather than just read-only permission. This could occur under various odd conditions, including copy of a set of files originally loaded to a PC from a CD. A problem could occur later when those files are to be deleted from the destination, with a message about no permission, since on Linux one of the reasons a file would be marked as read-only for the owner is to make it harder to delete that file by accident. When SmartMirror is used for archive purposes, it is good to maintain the original file permissions, but it is even better to be able to maintain copies of directories of files automatically.
