readme102.txt Release v1.0.2 is now available for use in a ZerverModule(tm) and in ProZerver systems. Changes. Operation has been changed to eliminate some number of messages that would appear within the Status - Current Details display that were not, in fact, problems. Operation as a member of a Windows Active Directory domain, in particular, has been improved. There are upgrades to several of the components -- kernel upgrade to linux-2.6.21.3 -- was 2.6.17.6 upgrade to samba-3.0.25a -- was 3.0.24 upgrade to mdadm-2.6.2 -- was 2.5.6 Upgrade. An internal format change was done such that an upgrade from V1.0.0 (or earlier development versions) must go to V1.0.1step. See file readme101.txt for details. Minimum Memory. Note that because of the internal format change, more memory is used for the system firmware, and there is less memory available for normal business purposes -- serving clients and buffering data. It is possible to boot up v1.0.2 on a system with 128MB RAM and have enough RAM available for light-duty work. "Light-duty work" does not include serving 20 Samba clients, nor running SmartMirror in a directory with 20,000 files. In general, more RAM than that amount is better, and much more is much better (up to 4GB). July 12, 2007, July 24, 2007
